What is it about daughters?
A pink little blonde peanut that needs only to be held, kept clean and dry, and fed grows into a little girl that skins her knees when she walks on her own.
She wanders away from reach and steps on a bee, or a thorn, and needs comfort from her parents.
She grows and finds new interests that take her farther and farther away from her father's protection. Until finally she is too far away to just pick up and hold when things go awry....no longer is he able to make it better for her with a bandaid or with big arms and a lap. She wonders if her Dad still cares. If he really loves her!
How can she not know? He who has looked out for so long? He who has kept the really bad things away? He who has made it his goal to provide, protect, and guide. Is he not a man? Is he not the deepest friend? Is he not always her father? Why is she the only one who refuses to acknowledge his limitations, his humanity, and his frailty.
What is it about daughters?
Why are fathers not perfect?
